“I am only one; but still I am one.  I cannot do everything, but I can do something; I will not refuse to do something I can do.”

The Avilla Family - 2009

The vision for Advocate for Orphans was birthed after David and Kerry Avilla returned from Russia in 1999 – having completed the final of three adoptions which brought five biological siblings together at last.  Burdened by the plight of the older orphan in Eastern Europe, they set out to do the “something” that they could do.

In 2004, Advocate for Orphans was formed and has since been involved in the connecting of Ukrainian orphans with American families.  They are determined to continue their work as long as there are orphans in need and a window of opportunity to help.

Since the beginning of their humanitarian effort, Advocate for Orphans has been changing childrens’ destinies through their advocacy of adoption and by guiding others in their first steps toward that end – having now helped to connect over 200 orphans with American families.

Advocate for Orphans is not an adoption agency.
